Prosecco Cycling Classic

Close your 2010 season in the best way possible, join us for the Prosecco Classic Granfondo in the heart of Veneto region. The 126km course rolls through the vineyards of the Prosecco wine region in and around the Valdobbiadene valley.
The long weekend we will be staying in Follina a village in the Valdobbiadene valley. On the Saturday will ride out into the hills to explore the riding in the area. Then, on the Sunday, it is the Granfondo, a 126km ride that cuts between vineyards with large expansive views, a course that is challenging but well rewarding.

Tour Programme

Friday 01 October 2010 - Arrival in Venice and Preparation. We will be there to meet you on your arrival at Venice Marco Polo airport and to transfer you to our hotel in Follina where the owner Giovanni will be awaiting for you on your arrival. Once you have had time to refresh yourself and unpack you will have time to prepare your bike and gear, we will be on hand for mechanical assistance if needed. If you are feeling like you want to test yourself a little before the proper riding starts there will be time for you to take yourself off for a quick spin.

Saturday 02 October 2010 - Group ride into the hills. Today’s ride will be an easy affair, the idea to be to get a few easy kilometres in with out too much strain. We will head out to see some of tomorrows course as we head west towards Valdobbiadene (the town). A quick coffee stop before we get going again on our route out towards Montello (site of the world road race championships) before heading back to Follina. Afternoon at pleasure. Evening - Dinner at a characteristic restaurant near the hotel in Follina.

Sunday 03 October 2010 - Granfondo Valdobbiadene Prosecco Classic An early start for the 09:00 hrs departure of the Granfondo, we will make the van transfer to take you and your bike the 10km to the start line. Then it is up to you as you ride the Prosecco Classic through the rolling hills, choose if you wish to 'go for it' or just appreciate everything just a bit more and take it easy. There will be a choice of the Granfonfo (126km) or Mediofondo (68km) routes. If everyone is back in time we might be able to get in a Prosecco tasting session at a local producer.
Evening - Celebration dinner at hill top restaurant over looking the vineyards and rolling hills.

Monday 04 October 2010 - Departure from Venice. Morning transfer to Venice airport for the return flights home.

For this years event we have included 3 nights in a 4* hotel in the centre of Follina, all evening meals - including dinner in a hill top restaurant over looking the rolling Prosecco hills, all transfers between Follina and Venice Airport on the Friday and the Monday.
