Join Italian Cycling Tours in San Remo for a weekend of the Milano-San Remo. Ride out on the course and see the professionals race by out on the route. On the Sunday you take part in the Granfondo Gazzetta Challenge, including the famous Poggio and Cipressa climbs.
Our base for this weekend will be San Remo, the town that sits on the hills above the Mediterranean Sea near the French border. On the Saturday we will ride from San Remo towards Imperia, taking in the famous climbs of the Poggio and Cipressa and see the professionals race past. Then on the Sunday you will have the opportunity to ride the Granfondo Gazzetta Challenge, a 110km ride that takes in the most famous parts of the race course.

Tour Programme

Tuesday 07 September 2010 - Arrival in San Remo and Preparation. Collection of participants from Genova Airport and transfer to your hotel in San Remo. Time to unpack; prepare bicycles and equipment for the next two days' group cycling. If you cannot wait to check out the immediate locality then you can take a short cycle ride on your own or take a stroll through the town or on the beach.

Wednesday 08 September 2010 - Group ride along the coast and see the Milano-San Remo. We will set off along the coast in the direction of Imperia, taking the opportunity to do a bit of easy climbing by heading up into the hills like the famous Poggio and Cipressa 'Capi' that dominate the coast. We will stop for lunch, and then ride back up the Poggio climb and wait with all the 'Tiffosi' for the Professionals to ride past as they race towards San Remo.

Thursday 09 September 2010 - Gazzetta Challenge Milano – San Remo Granfondo. Today is your opportunity to mimic the pros and ride the Gazzetta Challenge Milano – San Remo Granfondo, a 130km ride that takes in the most famous parts of the traditional Milano - San Remo, but with the added extra of a climb up the Passo Ginestro for good measure.
Evening - Group dinner at hotel.

Friday 10 September 2010 - Departure from San Remo. Morning transfer of participants to Genova airport for the return flights home.
